Utility Fixer

Summary of primary duties and responsibilities:

Maintains knitting machines keeping them in top operating condition, replaces worn or broken parts, makes proper mechanical adjustments, as the fabric quality dictated, corrects all mechanical malfunctions that cause greige fabric defects. Checks: runner lengths, Lycra tensions, take-up gears, automatic let-offs, pattern wheels, (and/or chain links) and confirms that the correct material has been loaded into the machine at every style change. Prepares and sets-up machines, and confirms that the correct material has been loaded for warp changes and machine start-ups. Checks runner lengths at beginning of each shift and periodically, patrols front and back of alley of machines, inspects for processing defects, or malfunctioning mechanical parts on machine, checks Operators sheets for reoccurring defects, stops repairs and restarts machine after correcting defects cause, correcting tensions as necessary, enter Computrol keypad, inserts markers as required. Assists in helping remove empty beams from knitting machines.  May be assigned to perform other duties as required by supervison.  Must be willing to work overtime when required. 


Work schedule:
2nd Shift: 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm (Shift premium of $0.75)

3rd Shift: 11:00 pm to 7:00 am (Shift premium of $1.20)

Pay Range:  $22.72 to $28.24 per hour



Requires frequent physical activity including lifting, pulling and pushing heavy material.  Must be able to each over head and occasionally work in difficult positions.  Must be able to walk on cement floors for long periods while patrolling.  Must have good manual dexterity.  Vision should be correctable to 20/20.
