Everything Darlington Fabrics makes stretches because every fabric knitted contains spandex. Darlington Fabrics understands warp-knit fabrics and stretch goods.
- We manufacture warp knits exclusively, in two constructions: tricot (stretches evenly in both directions) and Raschel (stretches in the warp direction more than the side direction). Weights range from very light (1.5 oz/yd2) to very heavy (10 oz/yd2).
- Light, mesh fabrics are used for applications where superior touch and feel are essential – linings, sheer underwear, etc.
- Heavy, tricot fabrics are used when durability is key – football pants, surgical/medical garments, etc.
- Fiber size can be varied to achieve different weights and stretch characteristics.
- We can also vary the luster of the nylon or polyester to create fabrics that are either dull or have a sheen.
- Nylon spandex fabrics can be made in every color in the rainbow; polyester/spandex is provided in white.
